A delegation of Nigerian Law School students from Cross River State on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, Senator Eteng Jonah Williams, in appreciation of his sustained support for legal education through his Law School Grant Scheme.

The students said the initiative has, over the past three years, provided financial assistance to Law School students from Cross River Central while also extending support to beneficiaries from other parts of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the students described Senator Williams as a leader committed to human capital development and educational empowerment through practical interventions.

They noted that the grant scheme has eased the financial burden associated with legal education, enabling many beneficiaries to successfully complete their studies at the Nigerian Law School.

According to the students, the intervention has restored hope to many young people pursuing careers in the legal profession while expanding access to quality legal education for deserving students across Cross River.

Responding, Senator Williams thanked the delegation for the visit and reaffirmed that education would remain a major priority of his representation.

He said investing in young people is one of the most effective ways of securing a brighter future for Cross River and Nigeria, adding that his educational interventions are aimed at producing competent professionals who will contribute meaningfully to national development.

The senator urged the students to remain committed to excellence, uphold the ethics of the legal profession and deploy their knowledge and skills in the service of justice, good governance and society.

He also pledged to expand educational opportunities through scholarships, grants and other intervention programmes designed to empower more young people.

The visit ended with the presentation of a plaque of appreciation to Senator Eteng Williams in recognition of his outstanding contributions to legal education and his sustained support for Law School students in Cross River State.
