Kenneth Egbas Quits PDP After 15 Years Joins ADC
A chieftain of the People's Democratic Party PDP Kenneth Egbas has quit the party after fifteen years.
Sources close to the ADC secretariat said Egbas has joined the party and is set to contest for Obubra/Etung House of Reps ticket in 2027.
He disclosed this in a resignation letter addressed to the PDP ward chairman in Olodue Werd, Qbubra Local Government Aree Cross River State.
He cited the deep divisions within the party and the increasing difficulty in getting chieftains of the party to work together.
"It is with heavy heart that | write to formally notify you of my decision to resign my membership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
"Since joining the party on 14 July 2011, | have remained an active and committed member, contributing to the growth end development of the party at the ward level, within Obubra Local Government Area, and beyond.
"My years in the party have been marked by strong belief in its founding ideals end sincere commitment to its progress.
"However, | never imagined that a time would come when the party would experience such deep divisions and seemingly irreconcilable differences, leading to a departure from the principles and values upon which it was founded.
"What was once a largely united and peaceful political family now appears increasingly affected by persistent conflicts and internal disagreements across venous levels.
"For a long time, | had hoped and prayed that these challenges would be resolved and that the party would regain the harmony and unity that once earned it the reputation as Africa’s largest political party.
"Regrettably, recent developments suggest that the divisions continue to deepen, making it increasingly difficult for some of us to remain within the fold.
"It is therefore on this note that | respectfully convey my decision to resign my membership of the party", he said.
He thanked the ward chairman sincerely for his support and goodwill he extended to him over the years.
He equally expressed appreciation to members of the party at various levels for their Camerederne, encouragement, and friendship.
He added that the opportunity given to him by the party to serve as Special Adviser in 2014 remains an experience he greatly values and wished the party through best in the years ahead.
