Ibom Int'l Market Will Change Narrative of Ikot Ekpene - Ikot Ekpene Council Chairman, Nkom

The Chairman of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Hon. Aniefiok Nkom, has said the newly flagged-off Ibom International Market will change the narrative of Ikot Ekpene and Akwa Ibom State in general.

Welcoming Governor Umo Eno to Ikot Ekpene on Wednesday for the turning of sod for the construction of the Market, Hon. Nkom commended the Governor for keeping to his campaign promises.

The Council Chairman lauded the Governor for his numerous life-touching projects in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, noting that the Governor has demonstrated that governance can be felt at the grassroots.

According to Hon. Nkom, the international market is not just a market but a foundation for prosperity that will create opportunities for traders, entrepreneurs, artisans and young people to build their dreams.

Hon. Nkom reassured the Governor of the continued support of Ikot Ekpene people for his re-election beyond 2027, as well as for all APC candidates.

The flag-off was performed on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area.
