PDP Celebrates Legacy in C'River, Vows to Reclaim State in 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River has celebrated its legacy in the state, saying its administrations between 1999 and 2015 laid the foundation for the state’s development.

The party made the assertion in an Independence Day message signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr Mike Ojisi, on Thursday.

Ojisi said the PDP was proud of its contributions to Cross River, particularly in tourism, education, healthcare, rural development, and human capital development.

According to him, the party’s years in government restored the pride of Cross River and positioned the state as a leading destination for tourism and development.

The party, however, regretted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had nothing to show for over 13 years of leading the state.

He said the PDP was now repositioning itself ahead of the 2027 general elections, with membership verification and the strengthening of party structures from the ward to the state level.

“The PDP in Cross River is proud of its legacies. Between 1999 and 2015, the PDP laid the solid foundation for the modern Cross River State that was once the envy of all states in Nigeria,” he said.

Ojisi said the party was committed to presenting credible and people-oriented candidates capable of returning the state to what he described as prosperity and good governance.

He urged Cross Riverians to remain patriotic, peaceful and hopeful despite the economic hardship, insecurity, youth unemployment and infrastructural challenges confronting the country.

The PDP spokesman also called on traditional rulers, youths, women, farmers, workers, professionals and the business community to support the party.

He said the party was “fully repositioned, united and ready to rescue and reclaim Cross River State from underdevelopment and poor governance.”

Ojisi felicitated with Nigerians on the 66th Independence Anniversary and prayed for peace, unity and progress in the country and Cross River.
