IBOE Paramount Rulers, Youths Declare Total Support For Otu, Tinubu Second Term

Traditional rulers from the four local government areas that make up the IBOE Alliance, Ikom, Boki, Obubra and Etung have declared 100 percent support for the re-election of Governor Bassey Otu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The declaration was made Monday night in Calabar during the IBOE Alliance Special Dinner and Strategic Engagement with Governor Bassey Otu.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Paramount Ruler of Etung, HRM (Amb.) Anthony Ntui Etta II, said the traditional institution, though non-partisan, has a duty to stand with the government of the day.

"We are not politicians, but we're supporting the governments of the day. The government of that day is part of us".

"Since the inception of democracy in this country, there is no Governor who has ended in 4 years, they have all done 8 years. We are going to let the whole world know that we're behind the Government of the day" he said.

The Paramount Rulers present at the dinner included HRH Minen Takon Atangba, Paramount Ruler of Ikom; HRM Otu Fredarline Akandu, Paramount Ruler of Boki; HRM Chief Sylvanus Ovat, Acting Paramount Ruler of Obubra; and HRM (Amb.) Anthony Ntui Etta II, Paramount Ruler of Etung.

In the same vein, youths of Ikom, Boki, Obubra and Etung under the IBOE Alliance have thrown their weight behind the second term bids of both leaders.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, the Vice President (South South), National Youth Council of Nigeria Comr. Dan Obo disclosed that youths from the 4 local government areas are strongly behind the re-election of Governor Out and President Bola Tinubu and see themselves as foot soldiers for their re-election bid.

"We the youths of Ikom, Boki, Obubra and Etung are strongly behind the re-election of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for second terms and we are ready to work assiduously to achieve that," Obo said.
