Former Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel Visits Uyo, For The First Time After Successors Defection Speaks on 2027 Political Direction

The Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, has urged his supporters to remain calm and law-abiding while carrying out their political activities saying he will address them in due course.
The Former Governor who is in Akwa Ibom state for the burial of his cousin Mr. Ukpong Ukpong was warmly welcomed in Uyo on Wednesday by PDP faithfuls who were gathered at the Victor Attah International Airport to receive him.
The visit marks his first visit to the state since his successor, Umo Eno, defected to the All Progressives Party (APC) three months ago.
Speaking in Ibibio language, Udom thanked the people for the warm welcome and reception, saying his visit is for the burial of his cousin and not political adding that he will be back to address them when it's time for politics.
"Let not thy heart be troubled, we came here for a burial, not politics, when it is the right time, I'll come back to give direction, and that would determine those who are on the right path and those who have left to the wrong side" Udom said.
Meanwhile, Governor Umo Eno has denied any rift with his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel, despite his defection to the APC.
Eno described Emmanuel as his "political father" and emphasized their relationship, saying, "There's no issue between me and my political father. No issue whatsoever."
