Fire Guts Shops Along Bedwell Street in Calabar, Cross River State

A devastating fire outbreak occurred around 3 am today along Bedwell Street in Calabar, Cross River State, gutting several shops selling home accessories, curtains, bedsheets, and other materials. 

The fire, which started near the former Nigeria Airways office, was reportedly sparked by a mad man who attempted to set fire to a car tire close to one of the shops late in the night.

Eyewitnesses claim that neighbors quickly responded to the blaze, managing to contain the fire before it spread further. 

Despite their efforts, the inferno burned down several shops, causing significant losses estimated to be worth millions of Naira. 

The affected victims have expressed their devastation over the incident, recounting the emotional and financial toll of losing their businesses.
