Federal Rep Urges Alesi, Ochon Warring Factions to Embrace Dialogue for Peace

Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency Representative, Hon. Victor Abang, has appealed to the warring Alesi and Ochon communities to resolve their differences through dialogue.
Abang made the call while addressing constituents in Ikom, emphasizing that war is not a solution to crises.
The lawmaker stressed that development thrives in peaceful environments, citing his role in facilitating peace between Iso-Bendegeh and Boje communities in Boki LGA. According to him, peace is a prerequisite for progress and growth.
Abang noted that the Alesi-Ochon crisis has lingered for too long, causing unnecessary loss of lives and destruction of properties.
The representative revealed he recently trained 20 chiefs from each ward in Ikom/Boki on conflict resolution and community building.
The initiative he said, aims to equip traditional leaders with skills to manage disputes and promote peaceful coexistence.
