Ebonyi APC Warns Aspirants Against Buying Nomination Forms Without Governor’s Approval
Aspirants seeking elective positions in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State have been cautioned against purchasing nomination forms without first securing the approval of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
The Ebonyi State chapter chairman of APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, who issued the warning during the inauguration of the Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone chapter of the Grassroots Advocacy for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru (GATFON), held in Afikpo recently, said the Governor is the leader of the party had should decide the next line of action for the betterment of all and sundry.
According to Emegha, any aspirant who goes ahead to purchase nomination forms without the governor’s directive risks wasting both time and money, noting that such payments are non-refundable.
“Let me advise those seeking elective positions to consult the governor before purchasing nomination forms. Anything done outside his directive will amount to a waste of resources,” he said.
The APC chairman described Governor Nwifuru as a fair and just leader committed to equity across all constituencies in the state.
He urged party members to ignore social media speculations and sponsored endorsements, assuring that the party would follow due process when the time comes.
He further commended GATFON for its role in promoting good governance, adding that both President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru have delivered on their mandates and deserve re-election in 2027.
Earlier in his remarks, the State Coordinator of GATFON, Barrister Patrick Anayo Mbam, said the group was established to highlight the achievements of the president and the governor while mobilising grassroots support for their second-term bids.
Mbam charged local government coordinators in the zone to take the campaign message to all wards, as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s base ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Also speaking, the GATFON Coordinator in Edda Local Government Area, Barrister Dick Agwu Dike, assured the APC leadership of the group’s commitment to delivering victory for the party and its candidates in the elections.
