D’Tigers Bow Out of 2025 Afrobasket After Quarterfinal Loss to Senegal

Nigeria’s men basketball team, D’Tigers have been eliminated from the 2025 Men’s Afrobasket Championship in Angola after a 91-75 defeat to Senegal in the quarterfinal clash held in Luanda.

The Nigerian side started strongly, taking an early lead after the first quarter. However, consecutive poor performances in the second and third quarters allowed Senegal to dominate, effectively ending Nigeria’s run in the tournament.

With this loss, the D’Tigers exit the championship earlier than anticipated. The team is expected to regroup and shift focus toward preparations for the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
