The Leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has lauded the Cross River State Political Network (CRISPON) for its grassroots mobilisation expertise in canvassing votes for the re-election of President Ahmed Tinubu and state Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu come 2027 general elections.

The state Chairman of the Party RT. Hon. Sunny Ettah who made the commendation while receiving the Executive and Members of CRISPON during a congratulatory visit at the party secretariat in Calabar noted the Group's professionalism in massively mobilising the Youths at the rural areas can still yield better results for the party's anticipated victory in 2027.

He disclosed that the leadership of the APC is strategizing plans for effective campaigns explaining the party's intention to utilise what he termed "a segmentation approach" in mobilising the electorates within targeted catchment areas instead of the traditional movement where mobilizers are usually more than the the mobilized. He observed, such a method in campaigning gives wrong analysis of expected results not reflecting the amount of efforts put in at the end of the day.

"So we want to redesign our Mobilisation programme engage targeted electorates," Ettah explained.

The APC Chair pledged to work with CRISPON in order to deepen the party's political engagement for better outcomes, "We need more than enough votes, particularly in the Presidential Election. For the Governorship election it is a done deal in the Cross River, whoever is courageous enough to contest against Gov. Bassey Otu is looking for cheap popularity."

Earlier, the D-G CRISPON, Dr. Micheal Abuo, revealed that the fifteen year old network was formed to provide a platform to mentor the Youths on leadership qualities as well as advocate on issues concerning the state.

Abuo, enumerated achievements of the group to include protest march in support of agitation for the state ownership of the Bakassi Peninsula and reallocation of the Oil wells, organisation for the endorsement rally for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Prince Bassey Otu for second term in the Southern Senatorial district of Cross River among others.

He appealed for the inclusion of CRISPON members into Committees on the activities of the party adding that the Group intends to set up a team which will go round the one hundred and ninety - six wards across the state to educate the people on the programmes of the state and federal governments with physical evidence and local presentation (dialect) to enhance free flow support for all APC Candidates.
