BREAKING: C'River Police Crack Down on Opposition, Seal Off ADC Membership Mobilisation, Registration Venue in Calabar

By Our Reporter

The alleged crackdown on Opposition parties across the country seem to be gathering momentum as Cross River State Police Command have sealed off venue slated for inauguration of African Democratic Congress (ADC) membership registration, mobilisation and revalidation committee.

Ahead of party primaries, ADC in Cross River has set up Membership Mobilisation, Registration and Revalidation Committee headed by Eko Alobo. The committee is slated for inauguration today, Tuesday, March 10, 2016 at a new Event Centre along Marian Road by 10:00am

Investigation by THE BEAGLES NEWS revealed that as early of 7:00am, a crack team of policemen has cordoned off the venue baring party members from gaining entry into the premises.

Source close to the security men on ground hinted that the officers said the security operatives got orders from above to seal off the venue based on petition by some members of the party.

As at the time of going to the press, some top ADC leaders including the South South Zonal Vice Chairman, Dr. Usani Uguru Usani and Rt Hon. Bassey Eko Ewa are said to be meeting with the Commissioner of Police to iron out the issues.
