SENEGALESE COACH, THIAW SUSPENDED
Winning the AFCON wasn't enough to save Senegal coach Pape Thiaw. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially suspended the Senegal boss today for the "unacceptable" walk-off protest in the final.
The walk out was staged after the center referee gave Morocco a late penalty. Thiaw tells the team to stage a walk-off in protest of the penalty.
Senegalese captain, Sadio Mané refuses to leave & brings the team back. The penalty was later awarded but Senegal keeper Edouard Mendy saves the penalty.
Thiaw could miss the 2026 World Cup if CAF hands down a heavy sentence.
