SPORTS: 4 Clubs  Officially Qualified Ahead of 2029 Club World Cup

Four clubs have officially booked their place in the expanded 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, ahead of this year’s final clash between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, according to SportBible.

PSG secured their qualification by winning the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League, defeating Real Madrid 4-0 in a dominant semi-final display.

Chelsea reached the final after overcoming Brazilian side Fluminense in their own semi-final match.

The upcoming tournament in 2029 will feature 32 teams for the first time and will be hosted by a country yet to be announced.

The host nation will be granted one automatic slot.

Joining PSG in the qualified list are Cruz Azul of Mexico, who earned their spot by winning the 2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Egypt’s Pyramids FC also secured a place following their triumph in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League, while Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli qualified by winning the AFC Champions League Elite.

The 2029 Club World Cup will allocate slots as follows: 12 for UEFA, six for CONMEBOL, four each for CAF, AFC, and CONCACAF, one for the OFC, and one for the host nation.

UEFA’s allocation includes Champions League winners from four consecutive seasons and additional slots for top-ranked clubs based on a four-year coefficient.

Similarly, other confederations will grant spots to their respective top-performing clubs over the same period, ensuring wide representation.
