Aduma-Mkpani-Ugep Road Will Boost Agricultural Activities in C'River, Says Sen Eteng
Senator Eteng Williams, representing Cross River Central in the National Assembly, has said that the 8-km Aduma-Mkpani-Ugep constituency road will boost agriculture.
Mr Williams made the statement on Sunday in Yakurr during an inspection tour of constituency projects facilitated by his office.
He said that the road would boost agriculture because it would facilitate the transportation of farm produce to markets in other parts of the state.
The senator said that the road would also improve connectivity among farming communities and link them to major roads.
“All the food in this local government come from this axis, so with this road, transportation will be easier,” he said.
Mr Williams further said that about two kilometres of the road had already been asphalted, while about six kilometres had reached an advanced level of completion.
He said that the remaining sections would be constructed in phases, depending on the availability of funds.
Mr Williams said that the road would significantly reduce travel time for residents and improve access to neighbouring communities.
He said that the project was part of his efforts to stimulate economic activities and improve the livelihoods of people in rural communities.
“This is one of our projects, and we are now moving to other sites. We are working on the road because it links the major roads,” he said.
Some residents of the area commended the senator for facilitating the road project and said that it would address transportation difficulties and improve economic activities.
