By Judex Okor
Senator William Eteng Jonas, representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, has commended the Prince Is Coming Support Group for spearheading the re election campaign of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu ahead of 2027.
The group on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Ikom Township Stadium, endorsed President Tinubu and Governor Otu for a second term, urging Cross River residents to support the movement, noting that both leaders have performed creditably and deserve another mandate.
The Prince Is Coming Support Group, described as a leading political support platform in the state, is led by the Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Emmanuel Ironbar. The rally drew members of the National Assembly, party leaders, political appointees and supporters from across the 18 local government areas of the state.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the rally at Ikom, Eteng, who moved the motion for the endorsement, said both Tinubu and Otu have lived up to expectations, particularly in the areas of economic reforms and infrastructure development.
Eteng, who chairs the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources Upstream, said the President’s reforms in the financial and banking sectors, agriculture, poverty reduction and education are already yielding results and attracting foreign direct investment.
He added that Governor Otu has demonstrated purposeful leadership and is restoring the state’s lost glory by reclaiming its common assets and investing in critical infrastructure to reposition Calabar as a major tourism destination.
The lawmaker assured that he would mobilise constituents in the Central Senatorial District to support the Tinubu and Otu 2027 project, stressing that it is time for stakeholders to align with the movement.
