Yuletide Outreach: Otu's Wife, Abang Foundation Feed 100 Widows in Obubra, Etung LGAs

Her Excellency, Bishop Dr. Eyoawan Itam Bassey Otu, with Abon Abang Foundation, Leads Christmas Humanitarian Outreach in Obubra and Etung LGAs
In the spirit of the Christmas season, the Abon Abang Foundation, in collaboration with Humanities Without Borders, an initiative of Her Excellency, Bishop Eyoawan Itam Bassey Otu, have carried out a humanitarian outreach to 100 widows across Obubra and Etung Local Government Areas of Cross River state.
Bishop Eyoawan Itam Bassey Otu was represented during the outreach by Dr. Inyang Asibong, the former Commissioner for Health and Special Adviser on NGOs to Her Excellency, who led the delegation alongside members of the Humanities Without Borders team.
In Obubra local government area, the outreach team was received by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Leonard Ogwa and other members of the Executive Council.
In Etung Local government Area, the delegation was warmly welcomed by the Wife of the Chairman, Mrs. Akinne Anom, alongside the Executive Director of the Abon Abang Foundation, Engr. George Ndifon Abang, PhD.
Speaking, the Executive Director of the Abon Abang Foundation, Engr. George Ndifon Abang, PhD, said the initiative was designed to enable beneficiaries to enjoy the season in an atmosphere of joy, warmth, and shared sweetness.
Abang promised to continue to look into the plight of the widows and the vulnerable people among us, saying "the need our support and care especially in this Yuletide, which preaches love and care for one another."
The outreach further reaffirmed the commitment of Her Excellency, Bishop Dr. Eyoawan Itam Bassey Otu, and the Abon Abang Foundation to humanitarian service and the promotion of dignity and care for vulnerable groups across Obubra and Etung LGAs.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, which brought relief and renewed hope at a time traditionally associated with giving.
One of the beneficiaries from Etung, Mrs Jessica Agbor, said: "I am very happy that we are still remembered especially at season like this when we don't have a anybody to fend for us.
"It is not easy to stay without a husband. It is like the whole community have left you behind
But either this gesture, we are really being integrated into the scheme of things. So, we thank the Governor's wife and the Abang Foundation."
