Yakurr Council Chairman Debunks Voter Mobilisation Fund Misappropriation Claims

The Chairman Yakurr local government Council of Cross River state, Obol Yibala Inyang Igiri has debunked misleading claims of financial impropriety and the misuse of funds meant for the on-going Voter Registration Exercise in the area.
Reacting to the allegation on behalf of the Council Boss, a self acclaimed "Concerned Yakurr Citizen" (CYC), referred to a post making the rounds in the social media, "Alleging that the Yakurr Chairman released only ₦1.3 million out of the ₦15 million allocated for voter-mobilization activities across the 13 council wards of the LGA.
CYC explained that the alleged ₦1.3nillion released was a total disbursement of ₦100,000 given to each ward, representing Phase One of the mobilization process—targeted strictly at kick-starting the initial awareness and coordination activities, emphasizing that, It was never presented as the full and final disbursement.
He further revealed, the disbursement process is conducted in transparent phrases assuring that the #15 million budgeted for the exercise remains committed to the purpose it was approved as the present Council administration remains open to transparency, accountability and engagement.
The Concerned Yakurr Citizen, described the social media report as misleading, inaccurate and unfair to the diligent work already done as well as the ongoing structured efforts to ensure no ward is left behind and advised the public to disregard any misconceptions designed to cause disunity in the area.
" The public is hereby assured that the mobilization project is on course, professionally coordinated, and fully aligned with the mandate of increasing voter registration across the LG."He stated.
