Wike Has Come To End of Road, Enough Is Enough, Says Bode George

A founding father and long-standing chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has stated that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, political antics have come to a dead ahead of the November national convention.

Reacting to the crisis rocking the party, George said Nyesom Wike had already made up his mind about his future in the party.

the Elder Statesman stressed that it would be a waste of energy to engage Wike in any confrontation.

He stated that the National Working Committee (NWC) and other stakeholders had agreed that no member, regardless of status, should dignify the former Rivers State governor with responses, even when he issued provocative remarks against the party’s leadership.

He said: “Ask yourself, does it make sense to continue to respond to Wike ? Besides his ranting, what else do you think he can do, and how else do you think he can behave other than what we have already seen him do ?

"If he likes, let him go and organise his parallel convention. We'll then see which one the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will recognise—whether it'll be the one the governors and stakeholders will attend, or the one he's boasting about.”

George was further said to have appealed to the media to desist from giving what he described as “undue attention” to Wike’s outbursts, which he believed were deliberate attempts to destabilise the PDP
