Wike Floats 'Rainbow Party' in Support of Tinubu's Second Term
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has officially flagged off a new political movement he termed the "Rainbow Party," declaring it the ultimate vehicle for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Speaking at a massive rally in Obio-Akpor, Wike announced that the era of strict party division in Rivers State is over. He described the "Rainbow Party" as a fusion of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and other interest groups united by a single goal: The Renewed Hope Agenda.
"We are launching the Rainbow Party today," Wike told the cheering crowd. "It does not matter if you hold a broom or an umbrella. In this movement, we are combining all the colors to form a shield for Mr. President. We are one. We are the Rainbow Coalition."
The FCT Minister wasted no time in launching a scathing attack on Governor Siminalayi Fubara, mocking him for clinging to a "dead" party structure while the real politicians have moved on.
Wike described Fubara as a "colourless" leader who lacks the political sagacity to understand that the game has changed.
"There is one man running around saying he is the leader of the party. Which party?" Wike asked sarcastically. "While he is busy fighting over a logo, we have formed a movement that covers the sky. He is alone. He has no color, no direction, and no people. When the Rainbow storm comes in 2027, he will not even be seen."
Political analysts see the "Rainbow Party" declaration as Wike’s strategy to legitimize his dual influence in both the PDP and APC, creating a formidable "Third Force" within the establishment that is loyal only to him and the President.
