US Imposes 21-Day Ebola Isolation on DR Congo Team Ahead of World Cup

The government of the United States has placed the DR Congo National Football Team under a mandatory 21-day isolation period over fears of possible Ebola contamination.

The health measure will require the Congolese squad to arrive in the United States earlier than scheduled to begin the compulsory quarantine “bubble” ahead of the World Cup.

Reports indicate that any additional individuals joining the team during the isolation period will be required to remain in a separate bubble from the main squad.

There are also concerns that if any new arrival develops Ebola symptoms, the entire team could face disqualification or be prevented from participating in the tournament.
