University of Calabar Alumni Association Demands Action Over Dentistry Quota Crisis

The Alumni Association of the University of Calabar has expressed deep concern over the plight of dentistry students and graduates due to the university's alleged overshooting of admission quotas set by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
The association in a press statement signed by its National president Paul Eshiemomoh and National Secretary Augustine Ukandu said it has investigated the matter and has engaged with students, management, and staff, described the situation as unfortunate and damaging to the institution's reputation.
The Alumni extends its sympathy and solidarity to the affected students and graduates while offering its services to help find a lasting solution.
They urge the university management to take urgent steps to address the issue and ensure that no student or graduate suffers unnecessarily.
The association also called for accountability, demanding that any office or personnel found culpable in creating the situation should face consequences.
