UNICAL SPC RESCHEDULES THREE-HOUR WORKSHOP ON STRATEGIC PLAN 2026–2030
The Senate Strategic Planning Committee of the University of Calabar has rescheduled its three-hour workshop on the Strategic Plan 2026–2030 to Thursday, 12th February, 2026, at the New Senate Chambers (Prof. Charles Effiong Senate Chambers) by 2:00pm.
A letter signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Uche C. Amalu, states that the workshop is titled “Guidelines for Preparation and Implementation of a Strategic Plan.”
He disclosed that the lecture will be delivered by Prof. Eka I. Braide, FAS, Emeritus Professor of Parasitology and former Vice-Chancellor of the Cross River University of Technology and the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA).
The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Offiong Effanga Offiong, who announced the constitution of the Senate Committee during a Senate meeting in January 2026, is expected to formally inaugurate the committee and address participants at the workshop.
According to the letter, the Strategic Plan 2026–2030 is designed to serve as a road map for University management and provide strategic direction for the institution up to the year 2030.
Provosts of Colleges, Deans of Faculties, Directors of Directorates, Institutes and Centres, as well as Directors of all Support Units, are invited to attend the workshop as key stakeholders in the planning process.
