UNICAL Appoints Acting Deans for Agriculture, Physical Sciences
The University of Calabar has appointed Prof. Ukwapu Chrisanthus Undiandeye of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology and Prof. Samuel Okon Inyang of the Department of Physics as Acting Deans of the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Physical Sciences respectively.
A release from the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and signed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Offiong Offiong disclosed that the appointments take effect from January 1, 2026 and will run until June 30, 2026
The six-month appointments follow the elevation of the substantive Deans, Prof. Anthony Eneji and Prof. Ekaete Enang, to the positions of Deputy Vice-Chancellors.
During their tenure, the Acting Deans are expected to provide effective leadership and administration of their respective faculties to ensure optimal productivity.
They are also charged with ensuring strict compliance by departments under their supervision with the University’s rules and regulations, including the timely submission of students’ results.
In addition, the Acting Deans are to key into the mission and vision of the current University administration while upholding the core values and standards of the institution at all times.
