Terror in Ikom: One Feared Dead as Cult War Erupts in Okuni Community

A chilling wave of violence has gripped the Okuni community in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State following a brutal clash between two rival cult groups, the Klans and the Vikings, which claimed the life of one individual in cold blood.

The bloodbath began quietly on Friday, July 11, during a burial ceremony where members of the Klans group had assembled to mourn the death of a colleague’s mother. But the solemnity quickly dissolved into horror.

By the early hours of Saturday, July 12, the simmering tension exploded. A member of the Klans cult, identified as Alobi Nsor, was hunted down and executed in cold blood, allegedly by members of the opposing Vikings group.

Eyewitnesses recall a scene of sheer terror: masked assailants clad in women’s skirts and gowns, emerging from the shadows to fire a single, fatal shot to Nsor’s head, leaving his body sprawled lifeless in a pool of blood.

The gruesome killing has sent shockwaves through the once-peaceful community. Fear now stalks the streets of Okuni as residents speak in hushed tones, dreading the inevitability of bloody reprisals.

“This is sacrilege. We’ve never seen anything like this before,” a shaken elder said. “It’s as though a curse has been unleashed on our land.”

As tension tightens its grip, many now live in fear that the violence could spiral further out of control, turning Okuni into a battleground soaked in vengeance and blood.
