Tension in Rivers As State Assembly Begins Impeachment Process Against Fubara
PALPABLE fear and tension have gripped the political class in Rivers as State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
This move is said to be escalating the political crisis and fuelling speculations that FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, is not willing to let go.
The move was initiated during a plenary session of the Assembly, where lawmakers cited alleged constitutional and administrative issues as the basis for the action.
It was reported that The Rivers State House of Assembly plenary resumed today, bringing forward its earlier scheduled return date of January 26.
