Senator Ekong Sampson Commissions Key Projects in Akwa Ibom South

Senator Ekong Sampson has facilitated the provision of 500kva electrical transformer, commissioned an electrification project and a Computer-Based Test/Information and Communication Technology (CBT/ICT) school block in Okon Clan, Eket Local Government Area (LGA), as part of his ongoing efforts to develop Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District.

The Senator also flagged off health facility projects at Immanuel General Hospital in Eket LGA and Government General Hospital Ibekwe in Ikot Abasi LGA respectively, underscoring his commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in the region.

Speaking to journalists immediately after the project tour, Senator Ekong Sampson, Ph.D., emphasized that these initiatives are fulfillment of his campaign promises to the people of Akwa Ibom South. 

He highlighted his advocacy at the National Assembly for the revitalization of the Aluminium Smelting Company of Nigeria (ALSCON) in Ikot Abasi LGA, noting that revamping ALSCON would create employment opportunities and boost Nigeria's economic fortunes, adding that he ha redouble his efforts to ensure fully implementation of Federal University of Technology (FUTIA ), also in Ikot Abasi LGA.

Senator Sampson also expressed that he has over the last two years facilitated employment for his constituents in federal government ministries and institutions in the country, while promising to equip the newly commissioned CBT/ICT block at St. Francis Secondary School, Okon, with computer sets to prepare students for future CBT examinations.

The Senator announced plans for his comprehensive medical outreach across all 12 LGAs of Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District.

 

He indicated that his mega grant/empowerment scheme is forthcoming, promising better days ahead for his constituents, saying that his projects and programmes reflect his focus on education, sports healthcare, and infrastructure development in Akwa Ibom South, aligning with his legislative and oversight responsibilities in the National Assembly as preached by the Renewed hope of Mr. President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the ARISE agenda of Pastor Umo Eno.

Elder Edet Okpo, Chairman of Eket Senatorial District Media Professionals, in his vote of thanks expressed gratitude to Senator Ekong Sampson for his benevolence and commitment to delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Akwa Ibom South. Okpo conveyed confidence that the senator will continue prioritizing the welfare and development of his constituents.
