REVEALED: Ex-C’River APC Chair Eba Set to Emerge PDP Deputy Gov Candidate with Jarvis
Fresh details have emerged indicating that the immediate past chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Mr. Alphonsus Eba, is set to emerge as the running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Arthur Jarvis, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A chieftain of the PDP, Prof. Sandy Onor, disclosed this during a telephone interview on Thursday evening, confirming that Eba has formally joined the opposition party.
According to him, “The former APC chairman will be the party’s deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Cross River.
“It is true that Eba is now with us in the PDP. In fact, he is expected to deputise our governorship candidate in the forthcoming election.”
Eba had earlier resigned his membership of the APC in a letter dated May 7, 2026, addressed to the ward secretary of Echumofana Ward in Yala Local Government Area of the state.
Part of the letter reads: “I have therefore sought an alternative platform where I can continue my political evangelism of peace, love, unity, and growth.
“I hereby notify you of my decision to withdraw my membership from the APC and request that my name be removed from both the physical and digital registers of the party before transmission to INEC.”
