PDP-APM Coalition: Makinde Declares Presidential Bid... Ambition Dead on Arrival Says Wike
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has declared his intention to contest the presidency in the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made at a grand rally of the PDP–APM Alliance held in Ibadan, the state capital.
Makinde, a second-term governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, told supporters that he was ready to take his political service to the national level.
The rally, organized under the PDP–APM Alliance platform, drew party faithful and supporters from across Oyo State and beyond.
Meanwhile, former Rivers state governor and minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, has described the alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Kabiru Turaki, and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as a “fraud”.
"That Alliance is 419, Makinde’s presidential bid is already dead on arrival" Wike declared.
On Wednesday, the Turaki PDP faction declared that it has formed an alliance with APM ahead of the 2027 elections.
