PRESS STATEMENT: OCHIBE BOKI CONDEMNS CONTINUING VIOLENCE AND DEMANDS THE SAFE RETURN OF TWO MISSING YOUNG MEN

Ochibe Boki, the apex socio-cultural organisation of the Boki people, strongly condemns the incessant violence and clashes involving the Boje, Iso Bendeghe and Nsadop communities.

We are deeply concerned about the disappearance of Obi Bisong, aged 22, and Nkpe Elvis Ekwo, aged 28, both from Bansan Osokom. The two young men were reportedly last seen in Enyi Boje at about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5 2026, while returning from Olom to Bansan Osokom through Onicha Farm and Nsadop. They have not been seen since then.

Ochibe Boki demands that the clan heads, chiefs and other leaders of Boje, Iso- Bendeghe and Nsadop to cooperate fully with the police and immediately produce the two young men alive and unharmed. Anyone with information about their whereabouts must report to the Divisional Police Office, Okundi Boki, or the nearest security agency without delay.

Ochibe Boki will no longer fold its arms and watch Boki land degenerate into violence and anarchy. The traditional and community leaders in the affected evil triangle of Boje, Nsadop and Iso Bendeghe must take responsibility for restoring peace and ensuring the safe return of the two missing youths. Failure to do so will require them to answer before the relevant security agencies.

We call on all Boki people to remain calm, avoid retaliation and allow the security agencies with the full cooperation of our people 

to conduct a thorough investigation.
