Otu Flags Off Power Restoration Project in Nde Community

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, has launched the rehabilitation of electricity installations in Nde community, Ikom Local Government Area.
The initiative is part of his administration’s drive to restore and stabilize power supply in rural communities, aimed at improving living standards and stimulating socio-economic activities across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the governor at the flag-off ceremony, the Director General of the State Electrification Agency, Mr. Francis Ekpo, urged residents of Nde to take ownership of the project.
He cautioned that the government’s huge investment in infrastructure would be wasted if vandalism and sabotage persisted, appealing to youths and elders to protect public facilities in the area.
Mr. Ekpo reaffirmed the governor’s commitment to his People First agenda, emphasizing that the present administration is determined to improve citizens’ welfare by ensuring equitable access to basic amenities, including electricity.
In his remarks, the Clan Head of Nde, His Royal Highness Engr. Bassey Nas, together with the Councillor representing Nde Ward, pledged that no government property in the community would be vandalized again.
They assured that the people are ready to work with the state government to guarantee the success of the project.
Also speaking, Engr. Innocent Inaku, Manager of the Ogoja Sub-Region, commended Governor Otu for the timely intervention and promised full technical support to ensure the sustainability of the electricity scheme.
