Odey Vows To Show Opposition Pepper as C'River APC Inaugurates Campaign Council

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State, Mr. Christopher Etta, has charged members of the State Campaign Council to work assiduously to ensure all round victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
Etta gave the charge on Saturday during the inauguration of the State Campaign Council at the party secretariat in Calabar.
Addressing the campaign council, Etta said the 2027 contest will be about ideas and performance, and urged members to be equipped with the achievements of the APC led administrations at both federal and state levels.
"Here now we are going to contest ideas. We are going to contest policies, we are going to contest programmes, and even government architecture. The game is different now that's why I want to appeal to you to be vested with the achievements of this administration to be able to contain the opposition" he said.
The party chairman listed the achievements of Governor Bassey Otu to include over 600 kilometres of roads, revival of Tinapa, recovery of the oil wells among others.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Campaign Council and Commissioner for Education, Senator Stephen Odey, thanked Governor Otu for making the job of campaigners easy through visible projects across the state.
He however warned that the party must not be complacent, stressing that no election should be taken for granted.
"Let me thank the Governor for making the job of our campaigners easy. The infrastructure projects that you have embarked upon across the state are evidential and a signal of the administration's commitment to improving the living standard of the people.
"But we cannot take that for granted. We must embark on rigorous campaigns as if we have strong opposition, though we don't have. There is a common saying that no election is simple. We will work on the same premise and ensure that no stone is left unturned. From the Bakassi Peninsula to the Obanliku mountaintop, our outing will be 100 over 100 percent".
"As the Director General, I am going to show the so called opposition pepper and I will smoke them all one by one and at the end of the day victory is sure" he said.
Odey vowed to mobilise grassroots participation and ensure the party's message gets to every nook and cranny of the state while assuring the state Governor that what the campaign council owes him is to deliver the governorship seat back in 2027.
Responding, the Governor of Cross River State and APC governorship candidate, Senator Bassey Otu, assured the council of his full support and backing as they carry out their assignment.
