NUC Resource Verification Team Arrives UNICAL As VC Restates Commitment To Commence  Programmes

 National Universities Commission's Resource Verification Team has arrived the University of Calabar to ascertain the state of preparedness of about 20 programs about to take in the institution.

The NUC Team comprises of 9 panels, totalling 24 members of the group.

The programs slated for verification include Early Childhood Care Education, Integrated Science Education, Marine Science, Physics with Electronics, Sustainable Development Studies, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Extension.

Others are Advertising, Broadcasting, Development Communication, Animal Science, Crop Science, Soil Science, Journalism & Media Studies, Public Relations, Strategic Communications, as well as Computer Science Education

Speaking during a courtesy call on the University's Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. Florence Obi, the leader of the National Universities Commission Panels, Prof. Haruna Lawal, said the exercise is a tradition that the institution is already familiar with, adding that, the panels are composed of personalities from different academic fields.

Prof. Lawal stressed that the essence of the visit is to know the readiness and preparedness of the Institution for the programmes.

He further stated that the Panelists were not in the university to condemn the institution, rather to commend and/or make recommendations, where necessary, for improvement.

Speaking, the University's Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. Florence Obi, welcomed officials and Panelists from the National Universities Commission, restating the institution's determination to commence some academic programmes. 

The Vice Chancellor expressed her gratitude to the National Universities Commission for the unwavering commitment, hard-work, and devotion to quality service delivery in the academic environs.

The University helmsman revealed that the Institution is ready to flag-off the programs, even as, the officials proceed to the field for the resource verification exercise
