Ukawu Community Honours Onicha LG boss ...Endorses Him For Re-Eelection

The People of Ukawu in Onicha local government area of Ebonyi state have endorsed the chairman of Onicha local government council, Hon. Chidiebere Uzor Agwu (Obosi), for a second term in office.
The people of the clan gave their endorsement on Tuesday during a civic reception organized in his honour which held at Ukawu Secondary School.
President General of the community, Mr. Agala James, in a welcome address on behalf of the community, described the Onicha council boss as a compassionate leader who has done a lot for the community.
He specifically commended the Chairman for his quick intervention in checkmating the spread of cholera which hit the community earlier in the year.
"Since assumption of Office as the executive Chairman of Onicha LGA, you have been building bungalows for widows and councilors of Onicha LGA. These buildings are verifiable; they are seen and felt I'm many of the communities that make up Onicha LGA.
"Earlier in the year ,the Executive Chairman was swift in responding to the outbreak of cholera in Ohaffia Village in this community . He responded by deploying medical personnel and equally ordered immediate drilling of multiple boreholes within and outside that village which helped to arrest further spread of the epidemic"
In a goodwill message, former Coordinator of Ukaba Development Centre, Hon. Prince John Elom, eulogized the Onicha council boss for appointing many of the illustrious sons of the community as his Special Assistants (SAs) and members of his goverment.
He noted that no council Chairman has remembered the community the way he has done since the creation of Onicha Local Government
He assured the Chairman of the unwavering support and solidarity of the stakeholders of the community throughout his administration.
"With what you have done for Ukawu people. I want assure you that Ukawu people and stakeholders are with you. Nobody from Ukawu will contest re-election against you. All the major grassroot stakeholders are here and they are all in support of you"
Also speaking, former General Manager of Ebonyi Pipe Production Company, Dr. Monday Obaji,praised the Onicha council boss for his infrastructural development in all communities of the council.
The Executive Chairman of Onicha Local Government Council Hon. Chidiebere Uzor Agwu (Obosi), in his remarks thanked the community for honouring him with a civil reception, and for adopting him for re-election.
He commended the community for the peace, unity and love that now exist in the community since the inception of the new caretaker committee of the Town Union, and urged them to keep it up.
He promised to work with their Town Union leadership and stakeholders of the community to attend to some of their requests and demands within the capacity of the local government.
" I have taken notes of all this it requests and demands. I want to assure you that all the ones that are within the capacity of the local government will be attended to, while I will engage our performing Governor to attend to those beyond my reach" he said.
The highlight of the event was the adoption of the Chairman for re-election through a motion moved by former Leader of Onicha Legislative Council, Hon. Gideon Igwe and seconded by Hon. Ozum Paul, councilor representing Okuzu Ukawu in Onicha Legislative Council.
The reception was attended by major stakeholders, Town and Development Unions leadership, traditional institutions, women and youths groups, and APC support groups among others.
