Tribunal Judgement: Health Commissioner Congratulates Gov Otu, Deputy Odey

Cross River's Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk has congratulated the State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey on their victory at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.
Recall that, on Tuesday, the Tribunal, sitting in Calabar, led by Justice Oken Inneh, in Suit No. EPT/CR/GOV/02/2023 and in a unanimous judgement, held that the issues of qualification of Prince Otu and dual citizenship of Rt. Hon. Peter Odey are pre-election matters and therefore status barred.
Speaking in his office, the Hon. Commissioner hailed the judgement as reflective of the people's yearnings, which, he stressed, was clearly demonstrated by the electorates at the polls. He interpreted the spiritual connotation of such development as God's continued manifestation and mandate for the people of Cross River State.
Speaking further, the Hon. Commissioner averred that, with the judgment now given, the good people of Cross River State have got every reason to celebrate even better, as the verdict heralds a unique moment of increased celerity of the People First' agenda, noting that the case had hitherto constituted a big distraction to Governor Otu-led administration.
Leaning on the Governor's olive branch waved at the opposition, Dr. Ayuk however called on litigants and other opposing forces to join hands with the 'Sweet Prince' in taking the new Cross River to the "eldorado of our dreams."
