Succour came the way of a detained patient, one Miss Glory Chioma Nwachi, as Afikpo local governemnt council chairman, Hon. Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam, has picked her bills of N590,000 after about four months in the hospital.

Glory, who hails from Amaizu in Afikpo North local government area, had some multiple wounds on her two legs which had taken her to several hospitals without positive results.

But last December, her relatives took her to Center of Hope Hospital, Afikpo where she had to undergo multiple surgeries and amputation on her two legs and it was successful.

It was gathered that after the successful surgeries, her hospital bills amounted to about N1.2 m and the family managed and paid N600, 000, remaining N590,000.

THE BEAGLE NEWS gathered that the hospital management refused to discharge the patient, Glory Chioma, and was made to remain at the hospital doing some menial jobs for them untill her bills were cleared.

However, succour came her way when the council chairman, Ibiam, intervened and cleared the outstanding bills of N590, 000.

As at the time of filing this report, Miss Glory Chioma Nwachi is said to be back to their house at Amaizu and has reunited with her family members, friends and well wishers.

This has ended Glory's five years battle with the ailment that almost claimed her life.
