Gov. Nwifuru Inaugurates Ultra Modern Shopping Complex in Afikpo, Donates Transformers To End decade of Power Outage

Committed to boosting the economic activities at the grassroots, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has inaugurated the first ever government ultra modern shopping Complex in Afikpo local government area.
The multimillion naira complex was fully completed by the Chairman of Afikpo local governemnt government area, Hon Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam and is locate adjacent Afikpo local government headquarters.
Nwifuru also inaugurated a holistic electricity project aimed at ending epileptic power supply in the entire Afikpo local government area.
The electricity project in Afikpo is to be completed in three months time.
Addressing the crowd at the event, the state Governo, represented by the Deputy Governor, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, explained that the electricity project was a fulfilment of his earlier promise of steady power supply in Afikpo local government area.
The Governor, who commended the Chairman of the council,Hon Uche Ibiam, for embarking on the completion of the Ultra modern Plaza project, noted that the shopping plaza would boost the socio-economic status of Afikpo in particular and Ebonyi state at large.
In an address, the Chairman of Afikpo local government area, Hon Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam, commended the state Governor for his immense love for the people of Afikpo which he has demonstrated in so many ways including quick intervention into the electricity challenge in the area as well as the appointment of illustrious sons and daughters of the area into sensitive positions.
Hon Ibiam, who notified the Governor that the Ultra Modern Shopping Plaza Complex named "EHUGBO SHOPPING PLAZA" was part of his effort in stepping down the People's Charter of Needs Agenda at the grassroots, assured of more people -oriented projects that would soon inaugurated too.
Earlier in his remark, the Hon Commissioner for Power and Energy, Chief Peter Ogeali, said
the state government has taken bold steps that would restore steady power supply in Afikpo through the provision of everything needed for the electricity project.
He implored the people to secure the transformers and other electrical installations from criminal elements.
The stakeholders commended the Nwifuru -led government for giving Ebonyi people good leadership through the provision of social amenities and expressed satisfaction that Afikpo Council Chairman is following their Excellencies footsteps which had brought about the numerous projects in the area including the just completed Ehugbo Shopping Plaza.
