The South South zone of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) have called on members of the All Progreaaives Congress (APC) to throw their weight behind the national chairman, Alhaji Abdulahi Ganduje.

A statement released by its chairman, Comrade Castro Ezama, shortly after an extraordinary meeting held in Calabar, said since assumption of office as national chairman, Ganduje has displayed some sterling attributes that led to the party's victory at the 2023 general elections.

Castro described National chairman as a core party man who understands the dynamics of political leadership, adding that what the party needs now is leadership stability and support for our President and not in-fighting that would cause disunity among the leadership.

The statement read in part: "I call on the Governor of Kano state, Abba Kabirr Yusuf, to settle down and serve the people for which he was primarily voted for.

"That he won elelctions does not mean that Ganduja should be crucified. Politics have come and gone so let the Governor by magnanimous in victory. Dissipating energy chasing his predecessor would not make him a hero.

"The APC in Kano should equally rally round the national chairman to ensure that his good works as Governor and name are not dragged into the mud in the name of politics.

"Therefore, there is an urgent need for a political truce in the state irrespective of political divide" Castro was quoted saying."
