Amina Arong has emerged the new woman leader of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP).

Amina, who takes over from late prof. Stella Attoe, was elected in the early hours of Thursday, January 18, 2024, by the National Working Committee (NWC).

In the keenly contested election, Amina defeated three other candidates including Nkoyo Toyo.

Following her emergence at the state, the party leadership forwarded her name to zone and then to national.

Nkoyo, THE BEAGLE NEWS learnt authoritatively, went ahead to recon test against Amina at national and lost for the second time. Amina had earlier contested against the late woman leader, prof. Stella.

She was a National Deputy Auditor of PDP, and SSA on National Assembly Matters in the former Governor Ben Ayade's administration.

She resigned her appointment as SSA on National Assembly Matters in the former Governor Ben Ayade's administration when he defected to APC.
