SENIOR SPECIAL ADVISER ON RELIGIOUS MATTERS COMMENDS OGOJA COUNCIL CHAIRMAN

The Senior Special Adviser on Religious Matters to the wife of the Cross River State Governor, Pastor (Mrs.) Odo Bassey, has praised the leadership qualities of the Ogoja Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Christopher Agbeh. She highlighted his progress in ensuring that the "People's First Mantra" is effectively reaching the grassroots.

Pastor Bassey made these remarks during a courtesy visit to the Ogoja Local Government Council Chairman. The visit was part of preparations for the ongoing Agriculture and Aquaculture Empowerment initiative led by the Wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, in collaboration with the First Lady of Cross River State, Her Excellency, Bishop (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu. The initiative aims to enhance food security and promote the involvement of women and youth in agriculture.

Pastor Bassey commended the Council Chairman for his notable achievements in less than three months in office, particularly in areas that directly impact the lives of the most vulnerable. She emphasized that his efforts are making a significant difference at the grassroots level.

Also present during the visit were the Senior Special Adviser on General Duties to the Wife of the Governor, Mr. Tony Ada, and the Special Adviser on NGOs, Mr. Jeff Adamade. They expressed their satisfaction with the solid foundation laid by the Council Chairman for a successful tenure. They described him as a leader committed to complementing government efforts in reaching underserved communities, noting that his programs are people-oriented.

In his response, the Ogoja Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Christopher Agbeh, expressed his gratitude for the visit by the distinguished representatives of the First Lady. He assured them that their assignment in Ogoja would be seamless, as the Council is prepared to provide all necessary support to ensure the success of the empowerment initiative.

Hon. Agbeh outlined some of his early achievements, including the introduction of a mini-bus shuttle service to reduce transportation costs in the area. He also mentioned his efforts to persuade major transporters to lower intercity fares. The Chairman reiterated his commitment to the "People's First Mantra" of His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu's administration. He also expressed his appreciation to the First Lady of Cross River State, Bishop (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, for her efforts in empowering the people of Ogoja Local Government Area.
