New CAN Chairman Vows to Boost Cocoa Farmers' Fortunes in Cross River

The newly inaugurated chairman of the Cocoa Association of Nigeria (CAN) Cross River State Chapter Mr. Bebuo Paschal Kejie has promised to improve the fortunes of Cocoa farmers and traders in the state.
The chairman who spoke shortly after his inauguration which took place at the New Ultra Modern Cocoa Skills Acquisition Center in Ikom said his inauguration marks the beginning of a renewed hope for every farmer, trader, and entrepreneur whose livelihood depends on cocoa.
He described Cocoa as more than just a crop but an incentive that fuels the economy, sustains families and builds communities.
He added that as CAN chairman, he will put Cross River Cocoa on the global map, empower farmers with support and better pricing, attract investment for modernized farming as well as promote local processing to boost the local economy.
The inauguration which turned out to be a gathering of all Cocoa stakeholders in the state brought together cocoa farmers, traders, political leaders, major marketers and promoters.
