Senate Passes North Central Development Commission Bill

The Senate has today July 4, passed the bill for the establishment of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC).
The bill was passed after the upper chamber looked into the special duties committee report on the bill presented by its chairman, Senator Kaka Shehu.
The Bill which was sponsored by the senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader Senator Abba Moro and co-sponsored by all the senators from the north-central region will become a law once the President assents to it.
The bill passed First Reading on the 5th of October, 2023, and Second Reading on February 21, 2024.
The NCDC when established will cover Abuja, Niger, Nasarawa, Plateau, Benue, Kogi and Kwara states.
