Sen Eteng Williams Donates N18m to Ikom Community, Police Division

Senator Eteng Jonah Williams, representing Cross River Central senatorial district, has donated N18m to the Ekpache-Nkome community and Ikom Police Division in the Ikom local government area.

The breakdown shows that Sen. Williams donated the sum of N10m to Ekpache-Nkome community in Ikom-Town in Ikom Urban ward in Ikom local government area for the construction of Okim Emang Palace, in Ikom Town while N8m is for the construction of six (6) modern toilets to Ikom Police "

Sen. Eteng Jonah Williams, who made the donation at Ikom Police Division headquarters at the weekend, said he was moved by the poor provision of infrastructure in the police division and decided to intervene in the area of toilet construction.

Eteng said: "The police are very essential in the security architecture of the state and therefore need to work in a conducive environment to perform better.

"It is in this light that I and my team decided to donate six units of modern toilet. The worth of the facilities is N8m and the contractor, Ndifon Ojogu, has been mobilised with the sum of N3m. This is all in the spirit of Easter celebration, which preaches giving, love, and unity."

Speaking at the Ekpache-Nkome community event at Ikom Town, Sen. Eteng Jonah Williams, said: "I was informed about this event by Chief Ebuta Ayuk and I promised to attend in person. So, I thank God I made it. I also promised to give my widow's mite to the building of the Palace and I have donated N10m cash to the community project.

"I am a village boy and know the importance of having a befitting palace at this crucial period when traditional institutions are playing a key role in state and nation-building. I will continue to work with the Ekpache-Nkome community to bring more dividends of democracy to our people."

Commending Sen. Eteng, the DPO, CSP Usang, expressed delight at the donation of six units of modern toilets and promised to make good use of it, asking for more collaboration in the area of infrastructure for the division.

On his part, the President General of Kekurah Ekapche Nkome, Bojor Ndifon (Ogban), thanked Sen Eteng Jonah Williams for the king gesture, saying "Our Senator has indeed proven to be a man of action and not more words."
