Sen. Ani Promises to Roll Out Palliatives To Constituents Celebrate August Yam Festival As Youth Forum Demands Accountability

The Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial District, Sen. Prof. Anthony Okorie Ani, has concluded arrangements to distribute palliatives to constituents in line with his campaign promises of empowering the people.

 

A statement issued by Okorie Ronald Okechukwu, SA (Media & Publicity) to Senator Ani, stated that some of the intervention projects will commence this August.

 

According to him, about 2000 bags of fertilizer and other farm inputs, including over 60 Nos. of motorcycle will be distributed to farmers and youths just as bursary and scholarships will be awarded to our students in higher institutions

 

The statement read in part: "A proposed feeder road project from General Hospital Onicha/Ugwu-Odida/Amankwo will be kick started and extended to other feeder roads in the Zone.

 

"Solar electrification projects will also commence on some selected major roads and streets in the Zone.

 

"Launching of the Constituency Office in the coming days. Youth empowerment, business support grants and other human capital development projects are underway within this timeframe."

 

The statement further explained that December 2024 also has been designated as an interactive Town hall meeting with the stakeholders, where the Senator will use the opportunity to thank the constituents for the massive support given to him during the February 2024, bye-election in the Zone.

 

"While these are some of the projects that have been lined-up for execution before the end of August 2024, it will interest us to know that the Senator has recorded some milestone achievements since assumption of office including the sponsoring of a motion for immortalisation of the late Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu; facilitation of employment of constituents into strategic federal ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).

 

"He has also provided assistance by way of cash support to over 70 constituents to attend to their individual needs such as school fees and medical bills with an amount ranging from N50, 000. 00 to N1, 000,000.00.

 

"Dear compatriots and fellow constituents, the Distinguished Senator is eagerly looking forward to attracting beneficial projects to Ebonyi South Senatorial District that will certainly improve the well-being of the constituents, irrespective of one's political affiliations.

 

"Therefore, there is no cause for alarm, as the Senator is fully determined to surpass the expectations of the people especially his numerous supporters," the statement further read.

 

Meanwhile, the Coordinator General for Ebonyi South youth forum (ESYF), Hon. Daniel O. Idam, has demanded for a good representation from the Senator. 

 

Idam in a statement said: "Ebonyi South Zone cannot be short change with underperforming Senatorial representative.

 

"We have been patient enough, one year and 4 months in the office is not one month. Enough is enough we will not accept poor representative in upper Chamber.

 

"The five local government areas that made up of Ebonyi South Zone must feel the impact of a good representation from the Senator Professor Ani, in all levels. We are watching and documenting all the activities.
