PRESS RELEASE: UNICAL, HIBVC Signs MOU To Aid Education, Cultural Progression 

In fostering academic development amongst staff in the institution, The University of Calabar and Hunan International Business Vocational College (HIBVC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in their bid to promote Educational and Cultural growth between both Institutions.

The Memorandum of understanding of both Institutions is predicated on the recognition of the common interest towards educational and cultural growth for their students. 

The signing was formalized at the Chinese Embassy in Lagos State by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research linkages and Collaboration Prof Peter Okafor on behalf of University of Calabar while the Vice President of HIBVC, Prof.Gui Cheng signed on behalf of HIBVC.

The Memorandum of Understanding for both institutions includes exchange of Staff and Students for Seminars and short Training in Vocational Education, Engineering,Technology and Chinese language training. 

Also present at the signing ceremony of MOU were: the Head of Department of Special Education, Dr James Abua Ewa; the Consul General of the Consulate General of P.R.China, Yan Yuging; Vice Dean of China-Aid Faculty of HIBVC and Project Coordinator,HIBVC Xu Qianya.

In another Development, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Linkages and Collaboration, Prof. Peter Okafor has initiated a Friendly Relationship with the China-Africa Vocational Education Alliance (CAVEA) at Yaba College of Technology. 

The Robust Relationship with CAVEA will link the University of Calabar with Chinese Universities to formulate Standards of course delivery,run dual/joint Academic Programs as well as organize short-term Skill training and Chinese language training.
