Health Commissioner Congratulates Gov Otu, Deputy On S'Court Victory
By Ebi COLLINS
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Ayuk has congratulated Senator Bassey Otu and his Deputy, Rt Hon Peter Odey on their proclamation by the Supreme Court as rightly elected governor and deputy governor of Cross River State, respectively.
Dr. Ayuk, who, in a congratulatory message made available to his Ministry's information unit, immediately after the Supreme Court verdict, said although no right thinking Cross Riverian anticipated the judgment to go otherwise given the landslide victory recorded at the polls, the good news delivered by Nigeria's apex court puts to rest the vexatious litigations that posed a huge distraction to the Otu-led administration.
"Their Excellencies, let me, on behalf of all of us at the Ministry of Health and the health sector of Cross River State at large, congratulate you on this very important victory. Our hearts are gladdened knowing that the great job you have begun in the health sector of the State would now be certainly taken to a logical end.
"Even while distracted by litigations in the past seven months, you gave Cross Riverians glimmers of hope. Now that the battle is over, we believe firmly that the journey for a greater Cross River has begun in earnest. We wish you the strength and grace to steer the State to the heights we all dream about," the Commissioner wrote.
The Etung-born politician and health development expert admonished dissenting forces to sheath their swords and rather join hands with Governor Otu in delivering the 'People First' governance to the citizens.
