In an effort to assist Cross River state in proper waste disposal, the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)has released another trench of waste bins to the state.

The waste bins numbering 79 which were delivered by the state NDDC commissioner Rt. Hon. Orok Duke were received by the State Commissioner for Environment Hon. Moses Osogi in Calabar.

According to the NDDC commissioner, the bins were donated to support the state's sustained efforts for proper waste management, which is in consonance with the state's avowed position as a clean and green hub for tourism and business.

Duke further gave his assurance that the state will get all that is due it from the commission without being shortchanged.

He also appealed to citizens to utilize the bins properly for the purpose for which they are meant for and not being converted for personal use by some unscrupulous individuals.

Receiving the bins, the state commissioner for environment Hon. Moses Osogi thanked the commission for identifying with the efforts of the state in maintaining its clean and green status.

He described the NDDC as a positive partner in the state’s developmental strides while assuring that the bins will be spread accordingly around the Calabar metropolis.

So far, over 200 waste bins have been given to the state by the NDDC.
