Appeal Court sitting in Lagos has on Thursday, November 23, set aside the tribunal judgement which earlier ordered a rerun in eight polling units for the Ogoja State House of Assembly election.

Appeal Court sitting in Lagos has on Thursday, November 23, set aside the tribunal judgement which earlier ordered a rerun in eight polling units for the Ogoja State House of Assembly election.
In the appeal no. CA/C/EP/SHA/CR/35/2023: Ayim Rita vs Mr. Aruku Thomas Uko & 3 ORS, the Court held that the tribunal didn't confine itself to the provisions of the Electoral Act in ordering for a rerun in 8 polling units.
Consequently, the Appeal Court in its judgement ordered for the rerun set aside and the Appellant, (Thomas Aruku) to be returned as winner of the March 18, State Assembly election.
