Again, It's Deja vu, Ayuk Declares As He Congratulates Gov Otu Over A'Court Victory
By Ebi COLLINS
Cross River Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Ayuk, has described as "deja vu" the Appeal Court's re-affirmation of Senator Bassey Otu as the duly elected governor of Cross River state.
Recall that on Wednesday, 22 November, 2023, the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, dismissed Senator Sandy Onor and the People's Democratic Party's petition against Governor Otu and the All Progressives Congress for lacking in merit.
Congratulating the 'People First' governor, Ayuk thanked God for granting the wishes of the vast majority of Cross Riverians who overwhelmingly gave governor Otu their mandate as demonstrated at the last election, adding that right thinking citizens knew the end of the court case right from the beginning.
"Congratulations, His Excellency, on yet another victory for Cross Riverians. Because it is the will of God that you lead the good people of Cross River at this appointed time, every obstacle that rears its head shall be surmounted in Jesus name, Amen," Ayuk prayerfully prophesied.
He appealed to the opposing parties to call a truce on the legal tussle and rather join hands with the Otu-led administration's bid to deliver good governance to the people of Cross River state.
While hoping that the litigation is over, the Health Commissioner charged the governor to continue delivering on 'the Project Cross River' vision, which, he said, has made the 'People First' mantra a totem of the present administration and, in recent times, one of the most used lexicons in the state.
