OGOJA COUNCIL CHAIRMAN INAUGURATES CLEAN UP OGOJA, TRAFFIC LIGHT ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEES

The Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Council, Hon. Christopher Agbeh, has inaugurated the Clean Up Ogoja Committee aimed at upgrading and beautifying the urban town.
He emphasised that the illegal structures built along major streets have defaced the town's original urban plan.
Hon. Agbeh enjoined the committee members to carry out the assignment with dedication, urging them to act legitimately, without fear or favor, as Ogoja must reclaim its once-commanded beauty.
In response, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Fidelis Eku Egede, who also serves as the Supervisor for Environment, assured that the committee would accomplish the task and pledged to ensure the members remain focused on their terms of reference.
In a related development, Hon. Christopher Agbeh, in collaboration with the Cross River State Traffic Regulatory and Management Agency, inaugurated the Traffic Lights Enforcement Committee for the area. Represented by the Vice Chairman of Council, Hon. Emmanuel Idi Yakubu, the Chairman condemned the act of beating traffic lights and stressed that compliance would help reduce road accidents.
The Director General of the Cross River State Traffic Regulatory and Management Agency, Effing Umoh Esq., expressed optimism that Hon. Agbeh’s administration would bring positive change, citing people-oriented policies and programs aimed at enhancing public life. He encouraged the people to better understand road safety measures and cautioned committee members against any form of misconduct. He also urged road users to comply with traffic regulations to prevent road hazards.
The committee is chaired by the Special Adviser on Peace and Security, Mr. Sylvester Eroma, with Cmdr. Patrick Edet serving as Secretary.
